Big Fella’s swipe at Carragher
MAROUANE FELLAINI has launched a scathing attack on Jamie Carragher – claiming the Sky Sports pundit is the last person who can criticise his aggressive play.
The Manchester United midfielder has also taken a pop at his own club by saying their delay in offering him a new £80,000-a-week deal puts him in a “strong position”.
Fellaini said: “How can someone like Jamie Carragher dare to question me? The guy spat from his car on a girl after a Manchester-Liverpool match.”
Fellaini’s attack reignited a feud with the former Liverpool defender after he said last year: “If I’m violent and aggressive, what was Carragher? He is the champion of the ‘blah blah’ and the world champion to break the legs.”
The 30-year-old Belgian wants a contract extension, but reckons United’s failure to act last summer has left him with the upper hand in negotiations.
He said: “The club did not renew my contract last year.
“Now I am in a strong position, especially since Jose Mourinho has stated that he wants to keep me.”
