BIRTHDAY BADGE

-

Jaguar’s iconic XJ saloon celebrates its 50th birthday this year and to celebrate, Jaguar is building a limited edition of its current XJ model.

Called simply the XJ50, the car costs from £74,280 and is loaded with options and details such as an embossed XJ50 script.

The current XJ looks distinctive but isn’t a patch on the original. I suggested to Jaguar’s head of design Ian Callum that, like the Porsche 911, Jaguar should have gently evolved its shape over the last six decades.

He didn’t totally disagree with me.
