WE’RE A NATION OF WHITE LIARS
Nine out of 10 Brits have got away with lying on their CV – and almost three-quarters still bagged the job.
Being lenient with the truth over dates of employment tops the list of things candidates tell porkies over – almost a third.
And more than a quarter have told lies about gaps in employment history and a fifth has upped their current salary to get a new boss to cough up more.
Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, which carried out the survey, said: “It’s clear from our findings that UK workers are not afraid to tell white lies on their CV in order to get a job.
“However, we would strongly advise that you do not do this. After all, you never know when you may get caught out and this could lead to an awkward conversation later down the line.”
