- BY STEPHEN WHITE s.white@mirror.co.uk

A BUNGLING burglar ended up a prisoner in the shed he was raiding when neighbours held him inside until police arrived.

Craig Thomson, 34, got in by ripping out a piece of wooden panel. He claimed his bike was inside.

Jennifer Graham, prosecuting, said police were called after the drug addict was seen inside “moving items around”.

She told Kirkcaldy sheriff court: “At this point the door had been broken. The accused was asked to remain in the shed and police were called.

“When they arrived the accused was in the shed, the door closed. He was arrested and replied his bike was in there.” David Cranston, defending, said Thomson “could not remember” why he went into the shed in Kirkcaldy, Fife. Thomson admitted forcing it open with intent to steal and got four months’ jail.

Owner Jo Dunne, 34, said: “I feel a bit bad for him but the pictures are funny.”
