Rabies ‘remedy’ is barking

-

aThe barminess that is homeopathy never ceases to amaze me. The latest case concerns a fouryear-old boy in Canada with behaviour problems who was treated with a solution made from the saliva taken from a dog with rabies. Honestly.

Quack heeler Anke Zimmermann suggested that the child’s issues might stem from having been bitten by a dog.

She stopped the treatment after a public outcry. The “remedy”, called Lyssin, is made by Helios Homeopathy based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Its director John Morgan said: “The remedy supplied to Canada was in what we call the 200c potency. “At these levels of dilution there is no material presence of the saliva in the remedy so there is absolutely no risk.”

So if there’s no active ingredient in the remedy, what’s the point of it?
