RODGERS RILED BY NAISMITH

- BY IAN BAKER

BRENDAN RODGERS has challenged the Scottish FA to take action against Steven Naismith.

The Celtic boss was furious with the Hearts midfielder’s “shocking challenge” on Scott Brown.

And he said: “You only need to see it. The ball was gone and the follow through is there to see.

“The ball was well gone and it wasn’t just late, it was very late. It will just be interesting to see what the authorities make of that.”

Champions Celtic came from behind to deliver Hearts a first home defeat in a year.

The hosts had taken the lead early on with Kyle Lafferty powering home but the Hoops levelled thanks to Dedryck Boyata’s header.

Moussa Dembele then finished well to make it 2-1 to Celtic from Tom Rogic’s pass before Scott Sinclair’s close range finished sealed the victory.

Rodgers, who saw his side seal a seventh consecutive title last week, said: “A great victory for us on the back of obviously going behind and, as I said, it was a really, really tough game for us.

“Tom’s pass for the second goal, Moussa’s touch and finish and then a real good combination play between Stu Armstrong and Scott Sinclair to score. Very satisfying.

“A different way to win from last week but still three points and happy.”

But Odsonne Edouard could be out of the Scottish Cup final after suffering a possible hamstring injury during this match.

Rodgers added: “It looked like a hamstring so we’re going to need to assess that and see where that’s at.

“If it is his hamstring then it’s going to be hard for him to make it.”
