A new dawn...
Coloured snaps show VE Day joy
PACKED liked sardines on to a ship, hundreds of jubilant GIs return home after helping free Europe of fascist tyranny.
This stunning shot of Second World War soldiers arriving at New York Harbour after VE Day in 1945 is one of many coloured by electrician Royston Leonard, 55.
Others show US troops marching through Paris, and with a captured Nazi flag, celebrations in London and a young boy with a union jack in a bombed-out home.
Royston, of Cardiff, said he colours the war pictures to “help the younger generations connect with them”.
