Miracle tots defy odds to return home
TWINS born 15 weeks prematurely with a combined weight of less than 4lbs have defied the odds by returning home.
Doctors feared Jai and Khal Lawless, born by emergency caesarean, would not survive.
Jai needed immediate chest compressions while brother Khal had surgery for a bowel perforation.
Jai then suffered a severe lung infection and chronic lung disease.
Now, three months later, mum Kelli, 38, and David, 40, have taken them home to Patrington Haven, East Yorks from Hull’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Mum-of-seven Kelli said: “I can’t thank the hospital staff enough – there’s not enough time or money in the world for me to be able to thank them.”
