LANCASTER HAILS SEXTON AS RUGBY’S BRADY
JOHNNY SEXTON is studying NFL legend Tom Brady to try to prolong his career.
The Ireland star (centre) plays the quarterback role against Racing 92 in Bilbao on Saturday when his Leinster team bid for a fourth Champions Cup.
Sexton, 32, has set his sights on touring South Africa with the 2021 British and Irish Lions, when he will be 35. And ex-England boss Stuart Lancaster (below, left), who coaches the fly-half in Dublin, uses Brady, 40, as an example to convince him he can get there. Sexton said: “Stuart has got me obsessed with Tom Brady. I didn’t know Brady (below, right) about a year ago. I didn’t watch any American football, but he is the most successful quarterback in the history of the NFL.
“Stuart has got me convinced I can play till I’m 40 and my wife’s going mad! I’m reading up on him to figure out how to prolong my career as long as possible.”
