MANCHESTER CITY celebrated lifting the Premier League crown in unique style – by shining all over the world.

After skipper Vincent Kompany raised the trophy at the Etihad on Sunday, City put into action a plan that had been weeks in the making.

An image of each player in the squad was beamed on to a building in their home town, celebrating the community that fostered their football talent as boys. The light show took place in 25 towns and cities spread over three continents, from Stockport to Paris, Essen to Santiago, Abidjan to Bradford.

A team picture was also projected on to Manchester Town Hall and City’s Academy was lit up to honour the young players who graduated to the first team this season.
