Wilshere is set to stay
ARSENAL are confident Jack Wilshere will stay at the Emirates.
Mirror Sport revealed last week the Gunners had made a fresh offer to the midfielder and were hopeful it will end their contract stand-off.
Arsenal’s original offer would have seen him take a pay cut from £110,000 to £90,000 a week with the deal based on pay-as-you-play incentives.
Wilshere, 26, was ready to make the heartbreaking decision to leave the club he joined at the age of nine. It alerted Wolves and Everton, who offered big-money deals, while Liverpool, Manchester City, Juventus and AC Milan were watching developments. But Wilshere always wanted to stay at the Emirates and Arsenal now believe he will sign their improved deal.
He has proved his injury problems are behind him and Arsenal would be reluctant to let him go on a free transfer.
