PUEL: LEICESTER WOULD MISS ME IN PIRANHA PREM
UNDER-FIRE Claude Puel says the Premier League is a “piranha club” and warned Leicester supporters to be careful what they wish for.
The Frenchman’s job is on the line after a miserable finish to the season, with Foxes fans holding up ‘Puel Out’ banners following the 2-0 home loss to
West Ham on Saturday, despite City being ninth.
It was their fourth loss in five games and the club’s Thai owners are likely to wield the axe this summer.
Struggling Southampton sacked Puel as manager last summer after coming eighth and reaching the League Cup Final.
Puel, who took over in October when the Foxes were 14th, warned: “The Premier League is like a piranha club. We finish in mid-table and I think a lot of teams would like that.
“At Southampton last year I finished eighth and got to a League Cup Final. See where they play now.”
