1960s crisp packet found on the beach
A WOMAN has found a 51-year-old crisp packet while strolling on a beach.
Kerry Hemsworth, 47, spotted the Golden Wonder ready salted crisp packet from 1967 on Caister beach, Norfolk.
The packet – one of the oldest in Britain – has the price 5d stamped on it.
And it could be worth a packet after a 1980s Walkers one sold for £600 on eBay.
Council worker Kerry, 47, said: “It was a shock. Who knows where it has been for 51 years?”
Only last month Neil McDonald, 42, picked up a 1967 Golden Wonder ready salted bag on Gullane Beach, East Lothian.
Every year an estimated 12.7 million tonnes of plastic end up in oceans.
