Prefabs to help crisis

In order to solve the housing crisis, why don’t we promote the DIY SOS-type of building for council houses? They often use prefabrica­tion methods. It’s around half the price of an ordinary house, and they require factory space to build, so more people would be employed.

This kind of building method would solve the housing crisis and reduce unemployme­nt too.

As a compulsive gambler, I have no sympathy for bookies in the fixed-odds betting terminals turnaround. It’s about time something was done about the fruit machines too. Although you could argue that unfairness is a part of life whatever age you are, it makes for very unsettling reading that the top 1,000 earners in this country have a combined wealth of £724billion, as opposed to the poorest 40% who only have £567bn between them (Mirror, May 16).
