£112k for ‘87 Ford Sierra

RARE RS500 Cosworth A FORD Sierra has sold for £112,500 – more than five times its value when new.

The RS500 Cosworth was one of 500 made in 1987 and cost £20,000.

The two-door saloon car has covered just 12,021 miles and is one of the very few RS500s produced in diamond white paintwork.

Joe Watts, of Silverstone Auctions, Warks, said: “This is an extremely rare and highly revered model.”

The world record price for a Sierra is £182,250.
