FLEETWOOD GETS A PEP TALK

PEP GUARDIOLA wants to finish the season with another title – the pro-am at the BMW PGA.

The Manchester City boss (left), a keen 14-handicapper, will tee-up in a group with Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Le Tissier and Peter Schmeichel today. The European No.1 was playing with the Spaniard last month when City claimed the Premier League crown (right).

And Everton fan Fleetwood said: “He does want to win, so I’ve got to get some practise in! He’s a good character to be around. He’s quite an inspiring person.

“He’s a successful person in his own right, and I get on great with him. We stay in touch now, and he’s very competitive, so he’ll be right up for it.

“Being around people like that can only help you and make you better, whether it’s golf or a different sport.

“You can have such good conversation with somebody so successful.”

Manchester United fan Rory McIlroy will play with Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes and Teddy Sheringham.
