Fallon aide’s ‘drunk grope’ at Xmas bash
AN ex-aide to Sir Michael Fallon told police he had drunk up to eight beers at a Christmas party where it is alleged he groped a woman, a court heard.
Richard Holden, 33, allegedly put his hands up the woman’s skirt in 2016.
Giving evidence, the alleged victim, 24, broke down and said: “It’s really daunting to tell people what happened.”
Southwark crown court heard she had complained to Anne Milton, the Government’s deputy chief whip, in February last year.
Ms Milton said: “It took her a while to realise that it was a serious assault.”
Holden, of Lambeth, South London, denies sexual assault. He was an adviser when Mr Fallon was Defence Secretary.
The trial continues.
