Egypt jail Brit ‘being left to pure torture’

THE sister of jailed Brit Laura Plummer claims the Government is leaving her to suffer “pure torture” in an Egyptian prison.

Plummer, 33, from Hull, got three years in December after being caught with 290 Tramadol painkiller tablets – powerful opioids which are banned in the country.

Sister Jayne Sinclair, 40, said: “This is pure torture, no bath, no shower, no toilet, baking hot sun.

“No phone calls, power cuts, mosquitoes, cockroaches... Where is the British Government?”

Plummer has been told her appeal will be heard before the end of the year.

The Foreign Office said: “We continue to do all we can to support Laura.”

It is believed she was visited earlier this week.
