‘Britain may have to remain in customs union until 2023’
BRITAIN may be forced to stay in the EU customs union beyond 2020 because of the Government’s failure to set out alternative plans, MPs warned.
No10 denied claims Theresa May is set to beg Brussels for another transition period until 2023 to avoid a hard border in Northern Ireland.
A deal already agreed will last from next March until the end of 2020. The PMs spokeswoman said:
