Digital Monday, disc June 4 Gerard Butler powered this budget-priced £22million heist action thriller to a £59m success. The Scots actor rips into his role as a sleazy LA cop hunting a crew of ex-marines turned bank robbers, planning to steal $30m from the only LA bank which has never been robbed.

Among the deafening shoot-outs, well staged action and a great deal of bare-armed and heavily-tattooed machismo, there are conflicted loyalties and muddled morality, with the cops boasting of being worse than the bad guys and the thieves enjoying loving family lives.
