FRED WILL TURN RED FOR £52M

MANCHESTER UNITED are moving closer to the £52million capture of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk. They are in talks with the Ukrainian club over the Brazil midfielder, who Reds boss Jose Mourinho wants signed before the World Cup starts. He is also pushing to finalise a deal for Toby Alderweireld before the tournament in Russia gets under way, although United value the Belgium defender at £45m and Spurs want £75m. He and Fred (above) were key targets for Mourinho, with more to follow as part of a £250m rebuild. Among them could be Juventus left-back Alex Sandro and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.
