WHALLEY STAGGERED BY SUCCESS
SHREWSBURY’S Shaun Whalley says the club’s promotion bid has wrecked his plans for a stag party.
But the winger (left) will not care if Town reach the Championship.
Whalley, 30, has played a key role in helping Paul Hurst’s men to Sunday’s clash with Rotherham.
The extended season meant he was not able to organise a lads’ trip before his wedding on June 8 in Cyprus.
“I did miss out on a stag do,” said Whalley.
“It’s all about Sunday now – and I’m sure I’ll have a few beers if we win.
“Because we were up there challenging for promotion, I thought we would get into the play-offs or the top two so I never planned anything.
“But I don’t mind. I have had a long, chequered career, so this is a good opportunity for me.”
