President must ditch ego to make world safe
TRUMP’S shelving of the summit with North Korea is not entirely unexpected, given his fragile ego.
It seems incredible to base such a decision on teenagerish brinkmanship. But it is likely a reaction to North Korea branding his Vice President Mike Pence a “dummy,” and a need to wrestle the initiative from Kim, who had already cast doubt on the meeting.
Trump’s lack of respect for diplomacy has taken him from a possible Nobel Peace Prize nomination to childish reaction. Now a true statesman must rise above his own ego and do what’s right to make the world safer – through diplomacy, negotiation and listening.
