REUNITED Hannah with dad Oscar

BBC2, 8pm Wildlife stories from around the UK are more surprising than you might think – and prove we don’t always need to go far for an awe-inspiring nature fix.

There is high-rise drama for a raven mother and her nest of four chicks on the rugged Welsh Gower peninsula. Some feisty parrots are squatting in a pub attic in Kent. And elsewhere, there’s a stomachchurning insight into parasitic wasps. They inject their eggs into their victims – the young wasps hatch inside the bugs and eat from the inside out.

Perhaps watch this after you’ve had your dinner.

Broadcasting live from the National Trust’s Sherborne Park Estate in the Cotswolds since yesterday, Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Gillian Burke bring us more stories like BBC1, 9pm

WHEN Hannah discovered that Nathan had an affair, it was like that Love Actually scene with Emma Thompson all over again. Thank goodness Joni Mitchell wasn’t playing in the background, we were already in bits.

WILD TIME Gillian, Chris and Michaela this over the annual three-week extravaganza.

A network of high-tech cameras and webcams give us a rare view of these animals during a crucial season for them all.
