Woman, 100, breaks neck in bag snatch
A 100-YEAR-OLD woman was left with a broken neck when a robber stole her bag in broad daylight.
She was walking along a street when the thug pounced from behind.
Police said she also suffered bruising to her face in the “nasty” attack at around 8.30am yesterday.
Detectives are hunting for the mugger and have asked for the public’s help.
The green fake leather bag was dumped nearby in Normanton, Derby.
Det Sgt Laura Kershaw, of Derbyshire Police, said: “This targeted a very vulnerable elderly woman unable to defend herself.
“The victim has been unable to give a description of the person.”
She is in hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
