Evasive Tory a big turn-off for Madeley
RICHARD Madeley cut off an interview with Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson after failing to get a straight answer.
The Good Morning Britain host asked the top Tory if he regretted telling Russia to “shut up and go away” after the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.
Instead Williamson praised NHS staff who treated the pair and spoke about the UK’s allies.
Madeley, who branded Mr Williamson’s reaction to Moscow “Trump-esque” then fumed: “Interview terminated, because you won’t answer.”
But viewers compared Mr Madeley to Steve Coogan’s comic TV presenter. Matt Jones tweeted: “Richard Madeley is more like Alan Partridge than Alan Partridge is!”
