Nuke sacrifice still a scandal
Sixty years ago a group of British servicemen were exposed to nuclear blasts on Christmas Island which have blighted their health – and that of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren ever since.
They gave their health and futures for this country back in 1958.
For six decades our governments have failed to acknowledge what they did, let alone thank them.
Now the Mirror is fighting for a medal for these heroes.
It’s the very least they deserve. Let’s hope they get it soon.
