Morgan in ODI scare
EOIN MORGAN has had a fitness scare ahead of the one-day series with Australia after breaking his finger at the weekend.
Morgan has had to pull out of the Hurricane Relief match where he was due to skipper the World XI v West Indies tomorrow due to a chipped bone in his right ring finger.
But he is confident he will be fit to face Scotland and then Australia, and hopes to test the finger for Middlesex on Wednesday at Gloucestershire.
“It’s not a huge concern,” said Morgan. “It’s one that, hopefully, we can manage past about a week when the swelling goes down.
“It’s not fractured into the joint. I’ll hopefully make one more Middlesex game.”
The ODI squad for the first assignment of the summer is due to be announced today.
