£5k pay gap for pensions

THE pensions gender pay gap is at 29%, with women now retiring on £16,900, compared to £21,850 for men, a report has revealed.

And one in six women will retire with an income below the Joseph Rowntree Foundation minimum income standard of £9,998, a Prudential study found.

The financial firm’s Kirsty Anderson said: “The retirement income gender gap is still too wide.”
