Andy backs No.2 Norrie
CAMERON NORRIE has revealed the backing he has received from Andy Murray before he overtakes the Olympic champion to become British No.2.
Norrie will face French No.1 Lucas Pouille in the second round at Roland Garros today after he broke into the world’s top 100 for the first time last week.
Murray will fall outside the world’s top 150 next month after losing his points from reaching the semi-final in Paris last year.
Norrie, whose father David is from Glasgow, said: “I was chilling after practice and Andy walked over and introduced himself.
“And, after my Davis Cup debut, he sent me a nice message congratulating me. It’s good to have a guy like that who is giving you positive signs.”
