What’s on cards as Sophie makes return to Corrie?

SOPHIE Thompson has revealed she is returning to Coronation Street... and dating a friend she knew as a teen.

The sister of Oscar-winner Emma briefly played clairvoyant Rosemary Piper in the soap earlier this year.

Sophie, 56, said: “I have four more episodes in Corrie in June that are coming up.

“And then who knows? I haven’t died, so fingers crossed.

“It was lovely because I got to work with Sue Nicholls and Helen Worth, who are old stalwarts.

“I was so entranced with all the old characters in Corrie and wished I could have met all of them – Liz Dawn and all those people. But they are all there in spirit and all those strong, funny, feisty women.”

On her new romance, Sophie, who divorced in 2015, said they were taking it slowly. She added: “He is actually a really, really old mate. After coming out of a really long marriage, dating is lovely.”
