I could relate to the woman who’s devastated her teenage daughter is pregnant (Dear Coleen, May 29).
One of my daughters got pregnant at 16 and it was devastating for me, too, as she is such a clever girl. However, I’ve had to eat my words.
She had the baby – my beautiful grandson (now eight) – and carried on with her studies a year after he arrived. She went to uni near home and we helped out with childcare, and she now has a job she loves and a lovely partner who’s a great step-dad. So it can work out with lots of love and support. Good luck.
