Frankly, the easy life isn’t for him

-

ON the face of it, Frank Lampard needs the hassle of working for a maverick owner, such as Derby’s Mel Morris, like he needs another debate on why he could not play alongside Steven Gerrard. And his pregnant wife Christine might wonder why her hubby is eschewing a comfortable London-based life on the TV sofa for the pressures of working for an East Midlands club that has occasionally been a bit of a basket case in recent times.

Sky Sports had high hopes Lampard (right) could eventually be their version of Gary Lineker.

But, like Steven Gerrard, one of the brightest minds in English football does not want the easy life.

He wants to be on the training ground, metaphorically kicking every ball. Good on him.
