Summit back on as Jong-un aide delivers letter to Trump
THE summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un is back on, a week after the US President called it off.
Trump made the announcement after the North Korean leader’s most senior aide hand-delivered a letter to the White House yesterday.
Trump said it was “a very interesting letter and at some point, it may be appropriate” to share it. He said Pyongyang “wanted to do denuclearisation”. North Korea did not confirm this. The meeting will go ahead on June 12 in Singapore as originally planned. General Kim Yong-chol, North Korea’s former intelligence chief, was greeted by Trump’s chief of staff, John Kelly, at the White House. Trump cancelled the summit after accusing North Korea of “open hostility”.
