Woman dies after hit-run at ‘car cruise’
A WOMAN has died after a car ploughed into 100 spectators at an illegal “car cruise” meeting.
Five, said to be seriously hurt, ended up in hospital after a BMW sped off.
The crowd was watching cars “drifting” around a car park on the Trafford Park estate, near Manchester United’s stadium.
One man who saw the crash on Thursday said he saw three people and a dog “launched into the air” after a driver lost control.
Ryan Currie, 23, of Didsbury, said: “The car drove through them and carried on without stopping.”
The cruise events were banned last year.
Two men, 21 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
