Going good at Epsom

-

DERBY DAY will start on ground officially good to soft, soft in places after warm and sunny weather in Surrey yesterday.

“We’ve been soft, good to soft places today and I’ve flipped it over,” said Epsom clerk of the course Andrew Cooper last night. “The ‘soft’ may disappear during tomorrow morning.”

LAH TI DAR, ruled out of yesterday’s Oaks by a virus, is “in good form again” and on course for the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.

John Gosden’s unbeaten daughter of Dubawi was the 2-1 market leader for the fillies’ Classic before an unsatisfactory blood test forced her to miss Epsom.

“She’s in good form again,” Gosden reported yesterday. “She has cantered the last three days and we’re aiming at the Ribblesdale.

“She just had bad blood and she was quiet but, whatever challenged her, she’s over it now.”
