IT’S almost a year since the country watched in horror as a devastating fire destroyed Grenfell Tower.

She learns there were some extraordinary women in her family’s past, which make her Army character Corporal Georgie Lane look like an unmotivated wimp.
There are some fascinating stories, like Michelle’s maternal greatgrandmother from Gibraltar, who was ITV, 9pm evacuated from the island during the Second World War – only to end up in the centre of the Blitz in London.
And another generation back, living in poverty in Manchester, was her remarkable great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Kirwan.
Michelle learns Elizabeth had a special connection to Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst and was involved in the fight for women’s right to vote.
A hundred years on, hearing these tales, Michelle is rightly one very proud woman.
