Bikini ban for Miss America

THE Miss America contest says it is no longer going to judge entrants on beauty.

Bosses are scrapping the swimsuit and evening gown sections in favour of judges asking girls about their plans for the role.

New boss Gretchen Carlson, a former winner, said: “It’s gonna be what comes out of their mouth that we’re interested in, when they talk about their social impact initiatives.”

She hopes the move will attract candidates of all shapes and sizes.
