Terror is top threat
The new F-35 planes and Trident nuclear programme are weapons of mass destruction which won’t defend us against the real threat this country faces – which is terrorism.
The real menace comes from radicalised individuals plotting in their bedrooms, the hackers and the religious extremists who are destabilising the Middle East and Africa.
These expensive programmes should be closed down so we can spend the money on dealing with the threats we face along with new schools, roads, airports and hospitals which real people actually need. Martin Whillock, York
We need more laws to control how people use plastic bags.

The news that the Tory Government’s own analysis shows that at least 2.6 million children will lose their free school meals left me feeling sick to my stomach.
