THE first person born on the NHS, nearly 70 years ago, said: “An extra penny is not a lot to us but for someone it could be the difference between life and death.

“Science, surgeons and drugs all cost money, and we want the NHS to have the best when we need it. My children’s lives have been saved by it.

“We all need it, we all use it and we would miss it if it were to go bust.”
