PERFECT PREP KEY FOR LEFTY

PHIL MICKELSON says the FedEx St Jude Classic will be the ideal preparation for his bid to make history at the US Open next week.

Mickelson, 47, (left) has been runner-up a record six times, and the US Open is the tournament he needs to win to complete the career Grand Slam.

‘Lefty’ will be among the field at TPC Southwind and said: “The best way for me to prepare for the US Open is to get sharp mentally.

“That’s what playing here in Memphis does.”
