KLOPP AIMS FOR SHAQ AS BACK-UP
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to fight off West Ham, Everton and Leicester to land Stoke livewire Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Switzerland winger, 26, is believed to have a release clause of £12.5million after the Potters’ relegation from the Premier League.
And Klopp, who knows Shaqiri (right) from his time in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, sees his pace and goals as a credible back-up.
One problem may be the player’s desire for first-team football. He left Inter Milan to join Stoke because of a lack of opportunities in Italy, and the prospect of being second-string behind Liverpool’s current front three may not appeal.
