CITY COULD PULL PLUG ON JORGINHO DEAL
MANCHESTER CITY are threatening to end their pursuit of Jorginho because of Napoli’s £60million asking price.
City are prepared to offer up to £44m for the Brazilianborn Italy international, who is one of their top summer transfer targets.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis insists that falls way short of their valuation for the midfielder (below).
City have identified Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic and Southampton’s Mario Lemina as alternatives, and will switch to them if Napoli refuse to compromise.
Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos is in England, ready to open talks with City if they can agree terms with the Serie A side. “The negotiations are in the hands of Napoli,” he said. “I’m waiting for a signal to understand what to do. “City look at three names for each position. I think Jorginho is their first choice.”
