JOSE SIGNS DALOT ‘EUROPE’S BEST YOUNG DEFENDER’
JOSE MOURINHO hailed Diogo Dalot as the best young full-back in Europe after his £17.4million move to Manchester United.
The 19-year-old made just seven senior
appearances for Porto before his switch, but Mourinho (above) believes the Portugal Under-21 rightback has huge potential and is a long-term successor to Antonio Valencia.
“Diogo is extremely talented with all the qualities to quickly become a great player for this club,” said the United boss.
“He has all the attributes – physicality, tactical intelligence and technical quality, combined with a Porto-academy mentality, which prepares players for the maturity they need at professional level. In his age group, he’s the best fullback in Europe.”
