SCOTLAND manager Ally MacLeod had the job of refocusing the team at the World Cup after defeat to Peru.

He banned players from making phone calls or leaving their hotel in Cordoba, Argentina, as they looked ahead to a clash with Iran. The Scots were already reeling after Willie Johnston failed a drugs test, although he protested his innocence.
