2000: Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright announced he was quitting football for a TV career.

2004: Chelsea parted company with manager Claudio Ranieri.

2005: Malcolm Glazer’s sons Joel, Avram and Bryan were appointed to the board of Manchester United.
