May blasted for ‘one-way’ airport deal

-

EX-Transport Secretary Justine Greening slammed Theresa May for the Heathrow expansion deal.

She said the public bore all the risk and the private sector took all the reward.

Ms Greening, whose Putney constituency in South West London lies under the flight path, said of Heathrow Airport Ltd: “The taxpayer has to cover all their costs if things go wrong. Isn’t this the worst kind of nationalisation?”

Mrs May responded saying Heathrow’s expansion demonstrated the Government’s “commitment to delivering the jobs and major infrastructure”.
