Lost Dr Who hope
SOME of the missing 97 episodes of Doctor Who could be returned to the BBC, an expert has claimed.
BBC Doctor Who archivist Paul Vanezis, who unearthed four lost instalments in Cyprus in the 1980s, said he knew where more of the black and white episodes are located.
The William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton eras of the show were decimated when the BBC purged archives in the 1970s with the start of colour TV – believing no one would watch black and white shows again.
Mr Vanezis said: “There are missing Doctor Whos with private collectors. They may be interested in handing them over.”
