Stacey Dooley is to explore the heartbreaking story of British teenagers who have nowhere to go at night.
In a BBC1 film for Children in Need, Hidden Homeless, she will show how thousands of youngsters are sleeping on night buses, friends’ sofas or swiping right on Tinder just to get a bed. A fifth of young people are homeless.
She meets teens who have been told to “prove” they have been abused to avoid being termed “intentionally homeless”. and one who spent their 18th birthday in a shelter only to be told in the morning they were no longer a priority because they had became an adult overnight.
