Pogba gets French nod

1998 2000 2006 DIDIER DESCHAMPS will keep faith with Paul Pogba and start him in France’s opening match against Australia.

The Manchester United midfielder’s inconsistent season does not bother France boss Deschamps.

Pogba was jeered by his own fans during a 3-1 win over Italy and failed to inspire in a drab 1-1 draw against the USA.

But when asked, Deschamps said it was “very likely” Pogba will start on Saturday.

He added: “Paul has responded well to my expectations. I defended him after the match against Italy. He was much better against the USA.”
